kde-plasma-desktop software package provides KDE Plasma Desktop and minimal set of applications, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kde-plasma-desktop
kde-plasma-desktop is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kde-plasma-desktop package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kde-plasma-desktop *
You will get with kde-plasma-desktop package name, version, architecture and description in a table
